What is the Woodditton Community Group? We’re a friendly and welcoming community group dedicated to making life in Woodditton and Little Ditton more connected, social and fun! Originally formed during lockdown, we’ve grown into a thriving voluntary group focused on bringing people together, hosting fantastic events and fostering a real sense of village spirit.
What Do We Do?Our aim is simple - to create opportunities for residents to meet, socialise and support each other. We organise a wide range of events and activities throughout the year, some big, some small and all designed to be inclusive, family-friendly and community-focused. Whether it’s a casual coffee morning, a big village street party or something completely new, our goal is to make Woodditton a vibrant place to live.
What Have We Done So Far?We’ve put on all sorts of events, from quiz and bingo nights to conker championships! Some of our highlights include: Street parties for the Queen’s Jubilee and King’s Coronation. Seasonal balls for Spring and Halloween. Christmas carols, local walks and competitions. Garage sales, litter picks, first aid and home security sessions. Ditton Fest! Our first-ever music festival, which was a massive success and brought hundreds of residents together for a day of live entertainment and fun. In addition to these events, we also obtained grant funding from East Cambs District Council for thousands of bulbs, which will bloom throughout spring and summer adding colour and beauty to our village. In collaboration with Woodditton Parish Council, we also purchased the flower troughs you can see as you enter the village at the base of the village signs. We’re also proud to hold our annual Sunflower competition, encouraging residents to get involved and showcase their gardening skills, making our village even more vibrant. Our events have helped neighbours connect, build friendships and develop a real sense of pride in our community. ![]()

What's nextWe’re always looking to build on our success and bring bigger and better events to the village. In 2025, we’re hosting a big VE Day Street Party with a road closure to commemorate the 80th anniversary and also a family-friendly Open Air Cinema evening at Jubilee Park, bringing people together for an evening of films and picnics under the stars! We’re also planning more live entertainment, social gatherings and seasonal celebrations, ensuring there’s something for everyone - whether you fancy a relaxed coffee morning or a full-blown festival! |
Want to get involvedWe love hearing new ideas and getting more people involved in shaping our events! Our community catch-ups happen every second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at The Three Blackbirds pub. It’s a great chance to come along and share ideas, help plan events or just enjoy a drink and a chat with neighbours. Everyone’s welcome, whether you want to get stuck in or just see what we’re up to! |
